MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota running back Trey Potts will miss the remainder of the season. He has an undisclosed injury that was serious enough to keep him hospitalized for six days after it occurred in the last game. Gophers coach P.J. Fleck said Potts was doing well. The third-year player is expected to be present at the practice facility this week to visit with the team. Potts left the field late in the fourth quarter Oct. 3 at Purdue. He is second in the Big Ten with 110.4 rushing yards per game.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. He was hurt in the 32-29 loss to Michigan on Saturday. The game marked his second start at left tackle. Coach Scott Frost says Prochazka would have surgery next week and return for spring practice. Turner Corcoran will take over for Prochazka at left tackle and Bryce Benhart will move into Corcoran’s spot at right tackle for the game at Minnesota this Saturday.

UNDATED (AP) — The No. 1 ranking in The Associated Press college football poll has been in the possession of just a few elite teams over the last six seasons. Alabama (63 times), Clemson (23), Ohio State (10) and LSU (eight) were the only teams to reach No. 1 from 2015 through Saturday. Georgia has now joined that group, reaching the top spot in the AP poll presented by Regions Bank for the first time since being preseason No. 1 in 2008. It has been 39 years since the Bulldogs were No. 1 in a regular-season poll. Preseason No. 1 Alabama slipped to fifth after becoming the first No. 1 to be upset by an unranked team since 2008. Reality Check thinks the Tide might have been cut too much slack.

UNDATED (AP) — Field goals are coming in bunches for Colorado State’s Cayden Camper. He kicked a school-record six in a 32-14 win over San Jose State. That’s the most in a Football Bowl Subdivision game in two years. Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III had his second 200-yard game, going for 233 yards on 29 carries against Rutgers. Walker leads the nation with an average of 150 yards per game. Iowa became the fourth team since 2000 to intercept 16 passes through six games. Arizona State has won five straight Pac-12 games by double digits for the first time since 1996.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin has dismissed running back Jalen Berger from its football program one year after he led the team in rushing. Badgers coach Paul Chryst announced the move in a statement Sunday without specifying a reason for the dismissal. Berger didn’t play Saturday in Wisconsin’s 24-0 victory at Illinois. Berger rushed for a team-high 301 yards as a freshman last season despite missing three of Wisconsin’s seven games due to injury. But his playing time had been sporadic this year as he slipped down the depth chart.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan State University football player has filed a lawsuit alleging the school was wrong to suspend him from the team indefinitely while it investigates sexual assault allegations from January. The federal lawsuit filed Friday identifies the player only as John Doe. It alleges Michigan State has been unresponsive to his demands for reinstatement while the school’s investigation and grievance process under federal Title IX rules are completed. The suit alleges that the university breached its contractual obligations to the sophomore who’s on a full scholarship and discriminated against him because of his gender. A Michigan State spokesman declined to comment.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia is the new No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll by a unanimous vote, taking the top spot in the regular season for the first time since November 1982. The Bulldogs rise from No. 2 comes a day after preseason No. 1 Alabama was upset at Texas A&M. The defending national champion Crimson Tide slipped four spots to No. 5 after its first loss of the season. Iowa is up to No. 2, leading five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 10, a first for that conference.
