Police Beat for Sunday, October 3rd, 2021

A 21-year-old Mt. Vernon man is being held in the Marion County Jail after leading Centralia Police on a high-speed chase Saturday night into Jefferson County.  Initial information indicates police initially tried to complete a traffic stop at Pleasant and Route 161 when Jonathan Wallace of South 13th allegedly fled.    The chase went into Jefferson County until Wallace’s vehicle became disabled and he was taken into custody.  Wallace is being held for alleged aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and speeding.    The chase began at 8:10 Saturday night.

Salem Police arrested 22-year-old Danielle Campbell of East Main in Salem on an outstanding Clinton County felony warrant in a pending retail theft case.   Police noticed Campbell in Walmart while handling another case and took her into custody.  Campbell posted $1,000 cash bond and was released from the Marion County Jail.

Kinmundy Police arrested 33-year-old Sara Moeller of East 2nd in Kinmundy on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant.  She posted $250 cash bond and was released.
