Carolyn “Kaye” Marshall, 77, of Odin, IL formerly of Iuka and Salem passed away September 21, 2022, at the Odin Care Center where she was presently residing.sutherlandfuneralhome.com “Kaye,” part of the very musical Bartley family of Iuka was an outstanding pianist, church pianist, and faithful member of Woodlawn Church near Iuka. She worked for many years in the Marion County Clerks office, and the Marion County Circuit Clerks office and was board secretary for the Marion County Board of Directors. She married Bernard N. “Buster” Marshall on August 26, 1961, in Iuka. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2018. She is survived by her daughter Lana Harris of Odin, IL, former son-in-law Larry Harris of Odin, and granddaughters Kayla and Savannah. Also her siblings Delbert (Evelyn) Bartley of Iuka, IL, Sherrill (Pat) Bartley of Fairfield, IL, Ruby Chapman of Centralia, IL and sisters-in-law Mary Bartley of Salem, IL, and Ruby Irene Bartley of Virginia along with a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Verl (Berniece) Bartley, Leland “Joy” Bartley, Roger Bartley, Bobby (Brenda) Bartley, Evelyn Rose Bartley, Maxine Bartley, Florice (Eugene) Poore, Norma (Charles) Hicks, and brother-in-law, Donald E. “Bud” Chapman.
Born December 13, 1944, in Salem, IL, she was the daughter of Virgil Emery and Lora P. (Littrell) Bartley. The family invites you to gather with them for graveside services, at 11:00 am Monday at the Iuka Cemetery. Rev. Roger Lipe will officiate. There will be no public visitation. They suggest memorials be made to the Donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881, entrusted with the family’s care.
