The Iroquios County Coroner’s Office says autopsy results show a 29-year-old Nashville man found inside an oil tanker truck died of an overdose.
The autopsy found toxic levels of amphetamines and fentanyl in the body of Garrett Meyer. His blood alcohol level was placed at .181, more than twice the legal level of intoxication.
The coroner’s office also indicates foul play or natural diseases were ruled out as causes of death.
Meyer’s body was found in the bottom of the tanker by workers trying to determine why oil was not properly flowing from the tanker where it was being unloaded at a gas transfer hub near Buckley, Illinois in east central Illinois.
The investigation is continuing.
