A 40-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty in Marion County Court to a weapons charge.

Bobby Everett of North Sycamore admitted to having possession of a Glock handgun after being convicted of a felony offense in McLean County in 2018.  As a result, Everett was sentenced as a Class X felony offender.

In addition to the five-year prison term, Everett will have to complete one year of parole, with credit for time served.

The judge released Everett on a furlough until November fourth.
