Governor Pritzker was asked about President Biden’s new vaccine mandates.
“We got a lot of challenges today with the number of people who are unvaccinated that could be vaccinated. I think the President is doing what he thinks is right to get more people vaccinated. As you can see, I have taken steps incrementally across our population with teachers and those who serve the most vulnerable to make sure they are getting vaccinated,” said Pritzker.
Under the Governor’s own mandate, all teachers and staff at preschools through 12th grade, all college staff and students, and health care workers must get their first shot by September 19th or submit to regular testing.
According to IDPH, more than 20,000 vaccine doses are being administered daily.
