Two Fairdale, Kentucky residents were injured Friday afternoon when their SUV collided with a semi-truck at the US 51 and Interstate 64 interchange near Richview in Washington County.

State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates an SUV driven by 64-year-old Pamela Prior of Fairdale, Kentucky, exited westbound I-64 and came to a stop at the end of the ramp at the intersection of US 51.  Prior then pulled into the path of a southbound semi on U.S. 51 and struck the truck’s rear tractor tires.

Both Prior and a passenger in her vehicle, 67-year-old William Prior, also of Fairdale, Kentucky, were taken to area hospitals with injuries.

The driver of the semi, 26-year-old Michael Kesslar of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, was not injured.

Pamela Prior was ticketed for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield at an intersection.

The crash occurred at 3:27 Friday afternoon.
