The Illinois Department of Transportation is reminding the public not to drink and drive over the holiday weekend.
I-DOT spokesperson Paul Wappel says the “Drive sober or get pulled over” campaign is underway for the holiday weekend.
“There will be extra law enforcement out this weekend through September 7th. Police will be looking for anyone driving impaired and get them off the road as soon as possible to make sure everyone can get to their destination safely.”
If your weekend includes alcohol, Wappel recommends planning how you will get home ahead of time.
