Thomas M. Vege, age 77 of Centralia passed away on August 30, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.
Tom was born on January 11, 1945, in Elgin, the son of Anthony Joseph Vege Sr. and Lois Jean (Schmitt) Vege.
Survivors include his great-niece, Krista Escamillo and Robert Reed of Plainfield; and their children, Maddison, Finley, and Roman all of Plainfield; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Anthony Vege Jr., Harold Vege, Susan Vege, Paul Vege, John Vege, and Donald Vege.
Tom was a very happy, stubborn, and independent person, always wanting to do things his way. He enjoyed being a comedian, and prankster, and was an excellent giver of high fives.
Thomas will be interred in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Elgin, with his parents. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
