The high school football season kicks off tonight around the state and the highlighted game of course in Week 1 is the Shrine Game, returning after losing the game last year to Covid. Salem will host Centralia at 7:30 on WJBD.
This will also be the first year of the new formatted Cahokia Conference that will be split into 2 divisions. Salem will compete in the Mississippi Division along with Central, Columbia, Freeburg, Roxana and Wood River. The Illinois Division will include Carlyle, Chester, Dupo, Red Bud, Sparta and Wesclin.
