Selmaville Beats Franklin Park For First Time In Program History…Jr High Baseball Roundup

The Selmaville Rockets came back from a 9-3 deficit through 2.5 innings by scoring 7 times in the fourth inning, beating Franklin Park for the first time in school history by a final score of 14-12.  After the Rockets held a 2-1 lead after the opening inning, the Bobcats came back with 8 runs over the next 2 innings to take a 9-3 lead heading into the fateful fourth.  The Bobcats outhit Selmaville 12-10, but their defense couldn’t overcome 13 walks on the day.  The Rockets got a pair of RBI each from Zane Dodson and Riley Tate.  Aaden Rostance drove in a run with 2 hits along with Carter Lowe and Alijah Carroll.  Kaig Graham also added an RBI.  For Franklin Park, Cam Carmichael drove in 2 with RBI from Eli Lograsso, Evan Barnes, Keyton Grawe, Noah Timm and Angel Salgado.  Carter Lowe worked the first 3 innings for the Rockets with Rostance getting the 4 inning relief save.  Carmichael started for Salem who also got work on the mound from Kyler King, Lograsso and Grawe.  Franklin Park travels to the Greenville Tournament this weekend with games against Mascoutah and Greenville.

The South Central Falcons are still undefeated in junior high baseball following their 19-3 win at Sigel St Michael.  Chase Guerrettaz, Sebastian Kruger and Trevan Sidwell each doubled, Sidwell finished 4-5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI.  Also driving in a pair were Guerrettaz, Kruger, Hudson Moore and Colt Cartright.  Garret Shumate added 2 runs and 3 RBI.  Guerrettaz worked 2 innings allowing 2 hits and a run with 3 strikeouts.  Colt Cartright also worked 2 innings giving up 2 runs in a solid outing.  SC is back in action today at North Clay.

Patoka/Odin lost to Hoffman Trinity 13-9.  Brady Haines and Brady Cain each doubled in the loss for the Mohawks.  Haines drove in 2 with RBI also from Cain, Ben Spencer, Drew Haines, Kyan Walker.
