A 22-year-old Danvers, Illinois man was injured Tuesday morning when his pickup attempted to change lanes on I-57 12 miles north of Salem and collided with a semi.

State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Jeremy Snyder was traveling southbound in the left lane when he attempted to change lanes and struck the bumper of a semi-driven by 56-year-old Sergio Caballero of Fort Chicago, IL. The impact caused Snyder to lose control, roll over and come to a stop in a right ditch.

Snyder was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was ticketed for improper lane usage.

Caballero and a passenger in Synder’s pickup, 20-year-old Mason Gibson of Danvers, escaped injury.

The crash occurred at 7:19 Tuesday morning.
