The SC Falcons won the Greenville Tournament over the weekend to open their season. They beat Greenville in the opener 4-1 behind Trevan Sidwell on the mound. The 8th grader went 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run with 8 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Garret Shumate got the final 3 outs for the save. At the plate, Sidwell had the lone Cougar hit as SC took advantage of 6 Greenville errors and 6 walks.
The Falcons then beat Breese 10-0 in five innings. Chase Guerrettaz homered and doubled twice and drove in 6 runs in the win. He also threw all 5 innings allowing 1 hit with 10 strikeouts. Also at the plate Garret Shumate, Sidwell and Sebastian Kruger added RBI. Today the SC Falcons return to action at CHBC.
At the CHBC baseball tournament Windsor/Stew Stras beat CHBC 15-0 in the title game. The tournament opened with CHBC over Mulberry Grove 13-4 and Windsor over Sacred Heart 4-1. Sacred Heart took 3rd beating Mulberry Grove in the trophy game 14-0.
