Both drivers were injured in a two vehicle crash on the Omega Road at the Arnold Road intersection in rural Iuka Sunday afternoon.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say the crash occurred when a car driven by 88-year-old Thomas Wartzel of Arnold Road made a left hand turn in front of a southbound van on Omega Road driven by 68-year-old Sandra Neabehr of Annette Drive in Centralia.
Neabuhr was taken to Salem Township Hospital via United Medical Response. Wartzel was treated at the scene, but refused hospital treatment. He was ticketed for failure to yield when turning left.
The crash occurred at 2:36 Sunday afternoon.
