Salem Police arrested a 22-year-old Mt. Vernon man for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop at Lake and Jefferson Streets on Saturday. Cody Young of Harrison Street was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary from a motor vehicle. A resident of the 500 block of Enterprise in Iuka reported her car entered Friday night or early Saturday morning with her purse stolen.
