Two men were formally charged in Marion County Court Tuesday with two counts apiece of burglary to two buildings in Odin.
20-year-old Christopher Bennett of North Hickory in Centralia and 19-year-old Jayce Simpson of Old U.S. 51 are accused of entering Simpson Auto on East Poplar and the Odin Park Concession building. Both incidents occurred on July 29th.
Odin Police Chief Joe Nix says he was able to identify the two from surveillance video both inside and outside the park concession building.
Nix says the two buildings were entered after window air conditioners were pushed out. A money box was stolen from Simpson Auto. Beer and candy were taken from the park concession building.
Nix says Bennett and Simpson apparently committed the burglaries before going to Sandoval where they allegedly damaged a vacuum and the building at the Sandoval Car Wash on South Mine Street.
Sandoval Police had earlier arrested the two for criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $2,500 apiece. They were still being held in the county jail at the time Nix completed his investigation.
No additional bond has been set on the new burglary charges.
