Salem Police arrested a 19-year-old Salem man for assault and disorderly conduct following an incident involving a pellet gun on Thursday.
Police report Ethin Julian of North College apparently became upset when a person passing by expressed concern about a child partially in the road and ditch. He reportedly told the woman he would show her and went into his home and returned with a pellet gun. Julian allegedly displayed and pumped the gun as he approached the woman. Police say the gun was never fired.
The woman left the scene and reported it to the police.
Julian was arrested following questioning after he was requested to come to the police station on Friday. He was taken to the Marion County Jail.
