Fay Maxine Gray, 89, of Centralia, passed away at 11:18 am on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia.
Fay was born on February 19, 1933, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of Carmen and Grace (O’Bryan) Jones.
She married Rev. J.E. (Chuck) Gray on August 9, 1953, in Herrin, Illinois.
She is survived by one son: Jesse (Gene) Gray and wife Martha of Centralia; one daughter: Melody Fowler or Belleville, Illinois; one brother: Carmen (Butch) Jones and wife Betty of Cabot, Arkansas; two sisters: Carolyn Fern of Daphne, Alabama and Janice Jones of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Rev. Joel Gray and wife Erin of Marion, Illinois and Valerie and husband Scott Maas of Centralia, Illinois; and special friend of the family, Jared Kehn of St.Louis, Mo. She had 5 great-grandchildren: Braxton Maas, Noah Gray, Braydon Maas, Zuriel Gray, and Bailey Maas.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Chuck Gray, great-grandson: Nathaniel Maas, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Fay was a homemaker and housewife her entire life.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 3:00 PM at the First Apostolic Church in Centralia with The Rev. Jon Urshan and Rev. Joel Gray officiating. Internment will follow at the Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the church.
