Vivian Vilee Pitman, 93, of Dix, Illinois, passed away at 5:00 pm July 20, 2022, at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
She was born March 30, 1929, in Searcy, Arkansas to the late Troy E. and Addie L. (Marris) Vaughn. Vivian first married Orbe Jolly, Jr. and he preceded her in death. She later married Willie Pitman, Jr. in Benton, Illinois. He also preceded her in death.
Vivian is survived by her children, Alan R. Jolly, Nancy J. (Pitman) Goodall, Cheryl A. (Jolly) Richardson, Linda F. (Pitman) Warren, Kitty M. (Pitman) Reid, and Paula J. (Pitman) Benthall; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her beloved parents and husbands, Vivian was preceded in death by her son, Gary Jolly, Sr; grandson, David L. Jolly; and siblings, Lorene Scott, Pauline McFarland, George Vaughn, Donald Vaughn, Loyd Vaughn, and Andrew Vaughn.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Graveside Service will begin at 2:30 pm at South Hickory Hill Cemetery in Mount Vernon with Reverend Mark Dye officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vivian’s honor to the Pitman family, in care of Cheryl Richardson.
