2022 07/29 – Donna Jo Brewer

Donna Jo Brewer, 78, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Donna worked as the Secretary at Valley Steel for many years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and cleaning. Donna cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Per Donna’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Brewer Family. Donna is survived by her son: Timothy Ashby of Centralia; a grandson: David Scott of Salem; three great-grandchildren: Savannah, Lucas, and Gage Scott; two step-sons: Ted Brewer of Odin and Kenny Brewer; three step-daughters: Francie Kramer and husband Kelly of Wichita, Kansas, Sueanna Mosely and husband Mark of Newport, North Carolina, and Danita Hill and husband Eddy of Wichita, Kansas; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law: Donald “Bear” Ashby of Wamac, Robert Ashby of Florida, and Jim Ashby of Tennessee; three sisters-in-law: Vicki Alli and husband Larry of Walnut Hill, Suzie Crenshaw and husband Terry of Centralia, and Linda Carter of Centralia; several nieces and nephews; and special friend: Crystal of Mt. Vernon.

She was born March 7, 1944 in Anna, Illinois, the daughter of Mervin Casper and Josephine (Soffiantino) Casper. She married Donald Roy Brewer on June 9, 1979 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mervin and Josephine Casper, husband: Donald Roy Brewer, and two infant sons: Daniel and Mark.
