The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a car while it was parked on a field road off the 2100 block of Norton Road in rural Odin.
The owner of the vehicle later reported the car as stolen from behind his Central City residence.

The Centralia Fire Protection District was called to put out the fire after a neighbor reported what sounded like gunfire and then discovered the fire at 10:19 Thursday night. Sheriff’s officials do not believe there was any gunfire, but most likely fuel or something else exploding from the fire.
