Pamela Jean Cooper-Smith, 60, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:20 pm July 10, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.

She was born January 16, 1962, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Arthur and Loveta (Lemons) Cooper. Pamela married John Smith in 1997. They were blessed with sixteen years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 7, 2013.

Pamela is survived by her sister, Susie Gowler and husband, Rodney of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brothers, Gerald Cooper of Florida, Larry Cooper of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Steve Cooper and friend, Nancy Null of Buckley, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Cooper of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Brenda Cooper of Centralia, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; pets, Coco, Gizmo, Vision; and a friend who was like a son, Greg Lapasek.In addition to her parents and husband, Pamela was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Cooper; nephews, Danny Flanagan, Jr. and Bryan Cooper; and sister-in-law, Linda Cooper. Pamela lived in Rockford, Illinois for thirty-five years.

She owned and operated a mechanic shop for many years with her husband, John.
