SC 12u Fall Just Short In USSSA Benton Championship

The SC 12u Storm Chasers are now 26-10 after their 2nd place finish at the USSSA Tournament held in Benton.  SC fell in the title game to the SI Shockers Sunday afternoon 9-7.  Payton Gullion had a bases clearing double to drive in 3 runs and also worked 2 solid innings on the mound allowing an unearned run on 1 hit and 2 strikeouts and picked off a pair.  Also at the plate, Trenton Ingram drove in a run and scored twice, Hayden Prather went 2-2 with 2 RBI.  Avery Gullion also doubled.

SC opened tournament play with a 9-4 win over the SI Shockers after Colton Cartright hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to give the Storm Chasers the win.  Avery Gullion and Prather doubled with Gullion driving in a run and scoring twice.  Luke Shumate, Prather, Kaiden Harrell and Carter McGwire also drove in runs.  Payton Gullion walked, stole 2 bases and scored.

SC beat the SI Elite in the 2nd game on Saturday 6-1 scoring 4 times in the fifth to pull away.  Ryker Dodson drove in a run.  Avery Gullion went 2-2 with 2 runs scored.  SC will head to the Quincy Wood Bat Tournament this weekend.
