Centralia Mayor Bryan Kuder says work is underway to find a new city manager and he says they should reach their goal of appointing a new manager in July ahead of Forrest Langenfeld’s departure from the interim position in early August.
Kuder reports the same firm that helped in the last search is helping again.
“When the past city manager was hired we utilized a company called Gov HR. With that was a contract if a city manager that was hired didn’t last a year then they were obligated to do another search for us for free. So we are utilizing that agency again for the search. On top of that, we have put ads in the Centralia Sentinel, The Southern Illinoisan, and other Illinois city manager municipal advertisements or media to look for a new city manager.”
Kuder says they will interview the top candidates before settling on a new city manager. He reports they will have at least one local candidate for the job.
