A 35-year-old Salem man received minor arm and leg injuries Friday night when he was run over by a car he was working on in the driveway of a home at 617 North Illinois Street.
Salem Police say Nicolas Robertson was working on the brakes of a car when he tapped the accelerator and it apparently stuck causing the car to travel in reverse into the north side of the house. Police say only one corner of the rear driver’s side of the car and the open driver’s side door hit the house.
The impact of the crash apparently caused Robertson to fall out the open door of the car and to have his legs and arms run over. He was up and walking around when emergency help arrived. Robertson was transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The door of the car sustained damage and the driver’s side window was broken out. Only minor damage was reported to the house.
The incident occurred at 7:11 Friday night.
