The Salem Lady Wildcats softball team earned two wins in the West Frankfort Summer League. They opened with an 11-5 win over Benton. Makenna Smith was the winning pitcher and also hit a grand slam. Avery Bass and Ally Roberts each doubled. Lauren Burge doubled and singled while Maya Susmena singled twice. Olivia Paulson, Miranda Podergois, Autumn Butts and Lilly Blagoue all singled.
Salem then beat Fairfield 7-3. Ally Roberts was the winning pitcher. Butts doubled. Breanna Thurman and Bass each added a pair of singles with hits from Sarah Lipe, Paulson, Roberts and Smith.
