A tractor being used to bush hog a field off the Peach Tree Road a mile and a half south of US 50 and east of Salem late Thursday morning caught fire and was destroyed.
The driver of the tractor Tyler Brinkmann of Carlyle was able get off safely. Firemen were able to save the bush hog attachment.
The cause of the fire has not been determined
Firemen received the call at 11:45 Thursday morning.
The tractor is owned by Dwayne Brinkmann of Carlyle.
