Wamac Police say a 28-year-old Centralia man faces multiple charges following a Saturday afternoon traffic stop.

Kody Rigney of Poplar Street was initially stopped for driving on a revoked license.  A search of the vehicle later turned up a sawed-off shotgun with a defaced serial number.    That resulted in additional charges of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and defacing a firearm.

Wamac Police Chief Steve Prather says Rigney did not have a machine gun and there is no information in his report on the sale of a firearm to a minor.  The charges had been included on Rigney’s initial booking information at the Marion County Jail.
