2022 06/21 – Louis “Hap” E. Knolhoff

Louis “Hap” E. Knolhoff, 93, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Odin Healthcare. Hap was born and raised in Centralia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver/salesman for Paddock Beverage Company for 30 years and then at Wimberly Bus Company for 12 years until he retired. He was a Lifetime Member of the Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055. Louis was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia.

Funeral Services for Louis E. Knolhoff will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Miguel Torneire officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the CMT Research Foundation and American Heart Association and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Knolhoff Family. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was born August 27, 1928 in Centralia, the son of Louis H. Knolhoff and Amelia (Huge) Knolhoff. He married Zella Lee Pruden on May 18, 2002 and she preceded him in death. Hap was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Amelia Knolhoff, wife: Lee Knolhoff and four brothers and a sister: Edwin Knolhoff, Selma Halstenberg, Melvin Knolhoff, Leroy Knolhoff, and Lester Knolhoff.
