Steve A. Harrell, 52, of Flora, passed away at 10:31 am, Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Clay County Hospital in Flora.
Steve was born on June 8, 1970, in Flora the son of James Edward and Catherine (Gibbs) Harrell. He married Jennie Howe on July 27, 1996, in Flora and they shared 25 years of marriage.
Steve worked several various jobs over the years, some including L.B. Ford in Flora, NAPA of Flora, and for the last several years, the City of Flora – mostly running the street sweeper. Anytime you ever saw Steve out he always had a big smile on his face and was sure to give you a big wave.
He loved to spend time with his friends and going to his kids’ sporting events. Another joy Steve had was going to tractor pulls, and helping his uncle farm. Steve had been attending the First United Methodist Church in Flora.
Steve is survived by his wife, Jennie Harrell of Flora; 2 children, Madison Harrell of Flora, and Trenton Harrell of Flora; half brother, Chris (Nancy) Harrell of Jacksonville, Florida; his mother and father-in-law, Ginger (Raymond) Williams of Flora, John (Tammy) Howe of Flora. He is also survived by the following sisters and brothers-in-law: Stephanie (Travis) Rinehart; Alyssa (Travis) Charles, Johnathen (Hannah) Howe; Drew Howe (Bionca); Kevin (Shawn) Williams; Sherri (Dave) Mahon; Julie Ohnesorge (Jon Hoene); Jennifer Coble. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services honoring Steve’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Steve’s memory to a college fund for his children or the donor’s choice.
