Centralia City Firefighters say flames were showing from two rear windows of a condemned home that caught fire Thursday night. The fire was at 414 North Cherry. The fire is considered suspicious because there were no utilities turned on. The ownership of the home was not immediately available.
Firemen say they were able to confine the fire to the rear of the home that sustained heavy damage. There was smoke damage throughout. They reported the large amount of items stored in the home prevented an interior attack on the fire.
All available Centralia City Firemen were called to the scene. The Centralia Fire Protection District provided mutual aid at the scene. Sandoval stood by at the main Centralia Fire Station in the event of another fire.
