The Christ Our Rock softball team is headed to the Elite 8 after their 3-1 Sectional championship win over Valmeyer. They advance to Monday’s Super Sectional at the University of Illinois Springfield at 4:30 where they play Illini Buffs.
Also in 1a, St Anthony defeated Casey 6-2 and will play at Johnston City Monday afternoon at 2pm against Marissa who shutout Steeleville 5-0.
In Class 2a, Freeburg has moved on to the Super Sectionals after their 4-1 win at Nashville. They advance to play at Johnston City at 5pm against Massac County after the Lady Patriots beat Trico 10-4.
In 3a sectional finals, Highland beat Waterloo 3-0 and will advance to Monday’s Sectionals to play either Rochester or Chatham at Mattoon.
