Centralia man who fled police following domestic disturbance turns himself in

A 34-year-old Centralia man wanted on aggravated domestic battery and aggravated fleeing and eluding turned himself into the Marion County Jail Thursday morning.

Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson say Michael Kretzer of Arline Drive fled his home in a vehicle after a neighbor called police when hearing a woman screaming from the home for someone to call 911. The chase went south on the Airport Road into the Boyd area of Jefferson County where Kretzer allegedly abandoned the vehicle and ran on foot.

A canine officer was called in to assist in the manhunt, but it ended Wednesday night with Kretzer not being located.

Dodson says the female victim of the aggravated domestic battery had allegedly been choked and was treated at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of a broken jaw.

Police received the call of the domestic disturbance around eight Wednesday night.
