By WJBD Staff Jun 9, 2021 | 11:52 AM

The Marion County Health Department has announced a program to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to home bound residents.

Administrator Melissa Mallow says very specific eligibility qualifications will apply. Only residents who rarely or never leave their home, or those who’s transport would require a significantly taxing effort, are eligible for the service.

If you are a home bound Marion County resident who needs a COVID-19 vaccination, please call 618-548-3878, extension 217. Please be prepared to leave your name and contact information (telephone number and address). Your call will be returned and a personalized assessment will be provided.

The service is available to home bound persons age 18 years and older since Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will be used. Johnson and Johnson is a single dose COVID-19 vaccine. The service will be available for a limited time, so those interested should apply as soon as possible.

For those who have mobility issues, but who can leave home, the health department offers curbside service for COVID-19 vaccinations. To make curbside service arrangements, you may also call the health department office at 618-548-3878.
