Marion County Board approves new accounting and payroll computer program

The Marion County Board Tuesday night approved the purchase of a new software program for payroll, accounting, and accounts payable. County Clerk Steve Fox told the board the current payroll system is no longer being supported and there have been issues with the rest of the program providing needed information.

The new system will be purchased from Computer Information Concepts at a four year cost of $106,000 including support.

Fox is already using Computer Information Concepts in the recording portion of his office.

In other action, the board approved several appointments. Retired Marion County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant David Hiltibital was appointed to a two year term on the Sheriff’s Department Merit Board. David Black and Albert Gallatin were appointed for addition two year terms. The board approved the reappointment of Richard Petrea to the Iuka Fire Department Board of Trustees and Lane Brisco to the Patoka Fire Department Board of Trustees.
