Centralia City Schools recognize 13 retirees

The Centralia City Grade School Board Tuesday night recognized 13 district employees on their retirement.

Board Chair Ron Johnson offered is congratulations.

The retirees are as follows:

  • Michael Morris, Teacher at Centralia Junior High, 7 years
  • Stephanie Obermire, Teacher at Central School, 31 years
  • Patricia Patten, Teacher at Schiller School, 24 years
  • Elizabeth Rademacher, Teacher at Jordan School, 35 years
  • Machelle Stone, Teacher at Schiller School, 16 years
  • Yvonne Straeter, Teacher at Schiller School, 34 years
  • Dale Therrien, Teacher at Centralia Junior High School, 9 years
  • Susan Baumgartner, Food Service Director, 10 years
  • Donna Cassedy, Paraprofessional, 22 years
  • Martha Gray, Cook at Jordan School, 7 years
  • Debra Herrell, Paraprofessional, 8 years
  • Susan Kracht, Jordan School Secretary, 13 years
  • Nancy Lagenfeld, Paraprofessional, 25 years
  • Tom Woelfel, District Treasurer, 57 years

The board accepted the resignation of 7th grade math teacher Maggie Purcell, 8th grade girls’ basketball coach Terry Herrell, and 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach Ryan White.

The board hired Kara Welch as Special Education Supervisor, Mia Debenardi as Jordan Instructional Support Teacher, Amber Winchester as Centralia Junior High Instructional Support Teacher and Mikayla Meyer as Schiller School Kindergarten Teacher.
