The Marion County Health Department is reporting its 120th COVID-19 related death.
Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says the male in his 60s had been hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms, but the department was not notified until they received word of the man’s death.
The death was one of 11 additional deaths being reported statewide. None of the rest were in Southern Illinois.
There were 365 new cases of coronavirus reported on Tuesday. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate remains at 1.1-percent.
The Marion County Health Department did not release an updated report on new cases on Tuesday.
In Jefferson County, three new cases were reported on Tuesday with seven in isolation.
Wayne County Health Department is reporting two new cases and three currently in isolation.
