A 21-year-old Salem man has had an unlawful restraint charge added against him in connection with a May 29th incident where he reportedly chased down a woman who was attempting to get away from him.

Donald Fairchild of West Warmoth in the new charge is accused of dragging her to the ground as she was attempting to run away.

Fairchild was earlier charged with misdemeanor domestic battery with a bond set at $15,000.   At that time he was ordered to have no contact with the victim or her residence if released from custody.   A public defender was appointed to represent him.

Fairchild was taken into custody after he reportedly followed a female into a backyard near Ohio and Lovell where an altercation ensued before he allegedly tried to drag her into a car.

Fairchild was stopped later when he was a passenger in the car and taken into custody.
