Mary M. Niepoetter, 78, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born on November 30, 1943, the daughter of Floyd and Rose (Sherrill) Nattier. She married Aaron Niepoetter on August 1, 1986, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her beloved family, stepchildren Aaron “Bud” Niepoetter Jr., Billie and Bobby Ireland, Theresa and Tom Ingles, Rick & Donna Niepoetter, Debbie and Dennis Laverty, and Dale and Susan Niepoetter; several step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren; brothers Bill Nattier of Arkansas, Ray Nattier and wife Deborah of Patoka; sisters Sherrill Harris and husband Ron of Effingham, and Leta Coleman and husband Kenneth of Centralia; sister-in-law, Delores Barrow; brother-in-law, Bill Niepoetter; and a host of many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Rose Nattier; husband, Aaron Niepoetter; and step-grandson Bobby Hill.
Mary was a loyal employee of Hollywood Candy and Littelfuse factories both in Centralia. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval. She had a keen interest in the world of Ham Radios and was a member of a worldwide Ham Radio Club, where she made connections and friendships all over the world. In her quiet times, Mary enjoyed challenging her mind with crossword puzzles, amazing everyone with the way she could come up with the answers.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Sandoval. Memorials may be made in Mary’s honor to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted for the family at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
