A 34-year-old Centralia man is being held in the Marion County Jail on multiple charges after leading Salem Police on a foot chase and then allegedly fighting arrest.
Shane Littleton of South Hickory was arrested for alleged aggravated battery to a police officer, felony resisting and obstructing arrest and on an outstanding failure to appear warrant on a forgery case.
Salem Police say they first attempted to try and stop Littleton while he was walking on Roddy Road near Black Drive. He allegedly pulled away from the officer and ran towards Lynnwood Estates on Roddy Road.
Police report Littleton was incapacitated when hit by a taser, but later allegedly fought with another officer and kicked him in the stomach. Once Littleton was handcuffed he was taken to the Salem Emergency Room for treatment of apparently minor injuries. He was later released and taken to the Marion County Jail.
One officer received a minor injury during the foot chase but did not require hospitalization.
The incident began at 9:37 Thursday morning.
