Salem Firemen were called out twice during the five o’clock hour on Sunday afternoon.
The first was at the Gerald Moon home at 2145 North Broadway in Salem where Moon reported wires shorting out. While there was no fire when firemen arrived, they pulled the power meter and called Tri-County Electric as a precaution until repairs could be made.
While firemen were preparing to leave that call, they received a report of a fire alarm at a home at 508 Schroeder Drive. It turned out to be a false alarm.
