Police Beat for Monday, May 31st, 2021

A 43-year-old Salem man has been arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for burglary to the Sale Barn on Route 37 North at Tonti Road.  Andrew Norman is accused of taking some items from a freezer.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail.

A 35-year-old Centralia woman is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged felony retail theft and forgery.  Jessica Smith was arrested Sunday night by Centralia Police following an incident earlier in the day at the Central City Dollar General Store.   Central City Police say an attempt was made to pay for a cartful of items with a cost of $430 with what was later determined to be a stolen check.   The clerk asked for ID due to questions about the check but allowed the three to leave with the cartful of items before receiving it.   Police say they never returned to the store.

A 37-year-old Centralia man was arrested by Centralia Police on a Marion County felony failure to revoke his probation warrant on a criminal trespass to residence conviction.  Jeffrey Fleming of South Hickory remained in custody in lieu of $3,500 bond.

A 51-year-old Centralia woman was arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding Clinton County failure to appear felony warrant for felony theft and possession of methamphetamine.   Kimberly Clark of Fairway Drive posted $250 bond and was released.
