COVID-19 involved in 91st death in Clinton County during pandemic

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting another death in Clinton County from a person afflicted with COVID-19.   The male in his 70s is the 91st death during the pandemic in Clinton County.

The death is one of 37 reported on Saturday.  Another 18 were reported on Sunday.  Another 802 new cases were reported on Saturday and 602 on Sunday.   Saturday’s deaths also include three others in Southern Illinois, including a male in his 50s in Williamson County, a female in her 80s in Randolph County, a female in her 70s in Madison County, and a male in his 70s in St. Clair County.   None of the deaths reported on Sunday were in Southern Illinois.

The state reached a milestone on Sunday, with 50-percent of Illinois residents now reported as fully vaccinated.  67-percent of adults have received at least one vaccine.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate has dropped to 1.7-percent.
