A 21-year-old Salem man was arrested after allegedly chasing down a woman and getting into an altercation with her in the backyard of a Salem home Saturday afternoon.
Salem Police say Donald Fairchild of West Warmoth was taken into custody for alleged aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint.
Police report Fairchild reportedly chased a woman down the street in a vehicle who was trying to get away from him. He allegedly later exited the car and got into an altercation with the victim apparently catching her in the backyard of a home near Ohio and Lovell Street. Fairchild then allegedly tried to drag the woman into a car before eventually leaving as a passenger in the vehicle.
Salem Police located the car and completed an investigative stop in the 1000 block of West Pine Street five to ten minutes later where Fairchild was taken into custody.
Police say they were able to confirm the incident with video collected from the neighborhood.
The victim did not require hospital treatment.
The incident occurred at 3:12 Saturday afternoon.
