Marion County Health Department reports six new COVID-19 cases

The Marion County Health Department is reporting six new positive cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and Monday.

None of the cases were in long-term care residents and one was a student.  Contact tracing is underway at the school.  Two of the cases are considered community spread and four were from household or close contacts.   There are now 14 active cases in Marion County and none who are hospitalized.  Five have been released from isolation in the past three days.  All five were long-term care facility residents.

The Clinton County Health Department reported three new positive cases over the weekend and Monday.  13 are on home isolation and one is hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting three new cases.  There are 13 positives still in isolation.

Wayne County has three new cases on Monday.  There are currently 20 in isolation.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 933 new cases of coronavirus disease and 10 new deaths.  Two were in Central Illinois and the rest in Cook County.   The seven-day statewide positivity rate is down to 2.2-percent.
