2022 05/23 – Jerry Lee Alli Sr.

Jerry Lee Alli Sr., 71, of Centralia passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on September 19, 1950, the son of Sam and Anna (Johnson) Alli in Centralia. He married the love of his life Edith Diane Rollinson on February 14, 1972, in Centralia and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children Tracy Savage and husband Billy Sr. of Martinsville, Illinois, Steve Rollinson of Wamac, Illinois, and Deana Hawkins of Centralia, Illinois; brothers Gary “Tiny” Alli of Roanoke, Virginia, and Larry Alli of Centralia, Illinois; sisters Beverly Ramsey of Centralia, Illinois, and Mary Cagle of Centralia, Illinois; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his beloved wife of 48 years, Edith Alli, Jerry was preceded in death by his son Jerry Alli Jr.; granddaughter Britney Giacone; his parents Sam and Anna Alli; sisters Rose Groves, and Diana Alli; brothers Sam Alli, David Alli, and Michael Alli.

Jerry was a loving PaPa to his treasured grandchildren. He loved talking to his twin brother Tiny on the phone while watching wrestling and ballgames. Jerry was a carpenter by trade working with his brother for General Builders from 1964-2000, and he was part of the company Progressive Logistic Services for 5 years. He was always glad to give a helping hand, volunteering for ESDA. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Central City where he loved his church family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, at the First General Baptist Church in Central City with Pastor Bryan Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church, where it was Jerry’s wish for everyone to “come as you are”, dressed casually and comfortably.
