A 30-year-old Centralia man has been charged with two Class X felony charges in connection with what turned out to be a drug bust at a room in the Centralia Motel earlier this week.
Bond for Lonnie Williamson of North Poplar was set at $150,000 on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver meth. The second charge carries a mandatory nine to 40 year prison term.
Williamson was one of four people in the motel room when Centralia Police pushed open the door after discovering a wanted person they were tipped was in
the room. In addition to an outstanding warrant, 49-year-old Sean Meredith was charged with a new offense in Marion County Court Thursday of failure to register as a sex offender. Bond was set at $50,000.
The person who reportedly provided the tip to police following a traffic stop, 37-year-old Ian Meredith of DuQuion, was charged with unlawful possession of under 15 grams of fentanyl. If found guilty, he faces an extended term sentence. Bond was set at $6,000.
All three had the public defender appointed to represent them.
Another person in the motel room faces no new charges but 25-year-old Amber Tolliver of South Franklin in Salem remains in custody on an outstanding felony warrant.
The final person in the motel room, 39-year-old Aida Almodovar of Pullen Street, has been released pending further investigation.
State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth says Williamson was charged because he admitted the motel room was rented in his name. He’s requesting additional information that could lead to the other three in the room also being charge.
