Police Beat for Thursday, May 20th, 2021

A 34-year-old Salem man was arrested by Salem Police Wednesday night for alleged disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after allegedly harassing people at the Orchard Shopping Center. Police say James Phillips of Jeanne Drive then allegedly fought being taken into custody. Phillips later posted $150 bond
and was released from the Marion County Jail.

A 38-year-old Centralia man, Billy Hunt of East Noleman, is being held in the Marion County Jail after being arrested by Centralia Police for alleged domestic battery.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a residential burglary. A resident on the 2200 block of Summertime Road in rural Kell came home to find a window broke out of a door and a number of items stolen, including a handgun.
