Melanie Kaye Manning, age 72 of Salem, passed away at her home on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Melanie was born on December 23, 1949, in Salem, the daughter of Raymond and Rosemary (Farthing) Barham. She married Barry Manning on January 2, 1999, at the Odin Christian Church and he survives in Salem.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Erin Krutsinger of Flora, Jamie Ayers and wife Jenny of Flora, and Crystal Lewis and husband Trevor of Yukon, OK; two step-children, Todd Manning and wife Cheryl and Jill Ward and husband Randy, both of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Diane Wattles and husband Mike of Mahomet and Marsha Kelly and husband Larry of Salem; six grandchildren, Brittany Arbuckle, Gideon Wheeler, Gage Krutsinger, Owen Ayers, Maddie Ayers, and Lydia Lewis; four step-grandchildren, Ben Manning, Julia Manning, Eli Manning, and Presley Ward; and two great-grandsons, Reed and Ryker Tolliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Melanie was a member of Evergreen Christian Church in Salem. She served in the United States Army and retired after working for many years as a Marketing Manager for a Nursing Home in Washington. Melanie had a love for baking and cake decorating and had owned the Cakery Plus bakery in Flora.
Funeral services for Melanie Kaye Manning will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Shannon Bopp and Jim McGrew officiating. A private family burial will be in Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois-Salem site or the Oil Belt Christian Service Camp and can be left at the funeral home.
