Salem man sentenced to probation for business burglary

A 54-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to two years second chance probation after pleading guilty to a burglary of a downtown Salem business.

Daniel Putt of Glenwood Apartments admitted to kicking in the door and entering the Mad Hatter Tattoo Parlor in the 100 block of East Main Street last October. Salem Police at the time reported a safe and some of the tattoo equipment was found behind the building. More equipment was allegedly found at
Putt’s residence when he was taken into custody.

Putt will also have to make $1,000 restitution. He is banned from having contact with the building. Putt also received credit for 37 days served in the Marion County Jail on the charge.
